SURRENDERING YOUR DOG

We know that surrendering your dog is probably the hardest thing you have to do and we are here to help you in any way we can.  Our goal is to help owners try and keep their pets if possible by offering suggestions in all areas.  If it’s not possible to keep your dog, we will do our best to find your dog a loving new home.

Steps to surrendering your dog:

  • Check to make sure you are in our coverage area, which is within 60 minutes or so of Warrington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Our coverage areas are generally Bucks County, parts of Montgomery County, and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, and parts of Burlington County and other parts of New Jersey.  If you are not sure if you are in our coverage area, please email us at info@jaxslabrescue.org.
  • If you are within our coverage area, please complete the form on this page.  Please include as much detail as possible.  Please attach photos of your dog if possible.
  • If we can bring your dog into the rescue, one of our volunteers will contact you about setting up a time to come to your home and evaluate your dog.  The evaluation helps us determine what type of home your dog should go into.  We pride ourselves on making the best match for your dog and the new family.
  • If and when your dog is approved to come into the rescue, we will make arrangements for meeting you at a neutral place (usually somewhere in the middle of you and the new adoptive family or foster family).
  • There is a $35.00 surrendering fee that will be due at the time of the introduction.  Check can be made payable to Jax’s Labrador Retriever Rescue.
